It pisses me off that instead of focusing on the things that actually pollute the earth ten times more they’re outlawing developing pictures.

It’s not instant gratification that’s to blame. It’s the idea that “hey you can’t say that we don’t care about the systematic pollution of the earth, because look! We did something about it.”

If that type of industry made money to the extent of oil companies drilling in Canada and Alaska, outlawing disposable cameras would be out of the question. They should be facing the big problem, rather than targeting things that, in the grand scheme of things, would do little in preventing the earth to go to shit.
